Especially formulated for baby’s delicate skin this cream is also popular with adults. Containing oils rich in Vitamin A, D and E combined with the healing powers of Calendula make this cream very effective in the treatment of all skin ailments.
TIP: no need to apply all over after every nappy change, so concentrated we recommend a light application to any irritated area only. Great for eczema, nappy rash, chaffing, cradle cap and more.
As we are now required to place a warning notice on our products containing the ingredient Sodium Borate. This notice reads  “not suitable for use under 3yr” which, as you will agree, is both contradictory and ironic so we created an alternative Baby Cream formula.

Two different Formulations are created so that each customer will have the choice to buy either Baby Cream (original formula) or Baby Cream ( Sodium Borate free).

Important Notice

We are now required by the Cosmetic Products Group Standard and the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to apply a warning label to this product stating:

“Not to be used for children under 3 years of age.”

This requirement relates to the inclusion of Sodium Borate, which is used in this product at less than 1%, the maximum level currently permitted in products applied to the skin.

New Zealand cosmetic labelling regulations are being aligned with European Union requirements, which have introduced this warning statement. The EU is also working towards a complete ban on Sodium Borate, which may ultimately require us to reformulate all creams containing this ingredient.

We would like our customers to know that we have used Sodium Borate safely in our formulations for 40 years and do not believe it poses a risk at the levels used in our products. The Sodium Borate we use is a high-quality supplementary grade that is also approved for human consumption. Boron, from which Sodium Borate is derived, is a naturally occurring mineral that is increasingly depleted in many soils.

At this stage, we have no desire to stop making the original Formula, as we are extremely happy with its safety, stability, and performance. However, we are committed to complying with all current regulations and offer our customers a choice of Original or Borate Free. We will comply and discontinue the Original Formula if future legislation leaves us with no alternative.

In the meantime, products containing Sodium Borate will carry the required warning label on the bottom of the jar as mandated by current regulations.

As you can imagine such a warning label on a Baby Cream kind of defeats the purpose for which this cream was designed. Therefore, we created a Borate Free formula. The other ingredients remain exactly the same, same quality, same ratio, all organic!
